About the Owner

Rodney Sanders

 

Rodney S. Sanders retired from the U.S. Navy, April 2007 after serving 21 years as a Senior Chief Information System Technician.  I have trained sailors, competitive bodybuilders, power lifters, youth, senior adults (ages 65 and up) and individuals who want to maintain their fitness or change their lifestyle.

 

Rodney is certified and qualified as a Personal Trainer, a specialist in Performance Nutrition, and a specialist in Sports Conditioning.  Additionally, he is Performance Nutrition, and a Specialist in Sports Conditioning.  Additionally, he is qualified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Blood borne Pathogens, which covers the danger of blood borne pathogens, safety and prevention practices and post-exposure procedures.

 

Currently enrolled in the American Fitness Professionals and Associates Personal Trainer Master Level Certification program.  This is one of the highest certification you can obtain in the Fitness industry.  Upon completion of the Master Level Certification, he will be certified as an AFPA Personal Trainer, AFPA Advanced Personal Trainer, and AFPA Nutrition & Wellness Consultant.  AFPA is one of the recognized leaders in Fitness Certification and Continuing Education for Fitness Professionals.

 

Outstanding knowledge in the following areas:

Basic and Muscle Anatomy and Physiology, including Metabolism.

Kinesiology, Biomechanics, and Musculoskeletal Deviations.

Health and Physical Fitness, including strength training, cardiovascular training, flexibility and body composition.

Nutrition including supplements, vitamins, and minerals.

Injuries and Disease.

Exercises for older adults, youth, pregnancy, hypertension, diabetes , arthritis, and coronary heart disease.

Knowledge of educating clients on obtaining their nutritional, fat loss and lean muscle gain goals using numerous methods, including the following:

-         Assessing and evaluating their body weight

-         Lean body mass, body fat percentage

-         Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

-         Body Mass Index (BMI), which includes, determining average daily calories requirement and protein intake to create a properly balance macro nutrients eating plan, including micro nutrients and recommended metabolite and botanical ergogenic supplements, as necessary.
